AlertService is a software that was developed by Improving Restaurants in order to detect scams and theft carried out by servers and employees at restaurants.
AlertService is installed at the restaurant and it automatically scans each transaction by capturing every button pressed on the POS terminals. If it finds a suspicious transaction, for example, void, no sale, floating checks, promotions/discount after the check was printed, after check was closed and others, it will capture the entire transaction, email it out to the appropriate personnel as well as post it to a central website where it may be access from anywhere with proper user ID and password. AlertService is also used to monitor the service provided to customers through several alerts, including Service Time, and few other alerts. This software is capable of reducing food cost through PROACTIVE awareness. Instead of auditing random tickets, watching video surveillance cameras, only focus on those transactions where possible theft has occured.
here is the basic layout of the AlertService. After you choose your store, date, and click apply, it would display all the alerts for the given store/date.
Notice that each alert is given a status which is used to make sure all tickets are checked and/or if they are being researched and etc.
Other information included is what store the alert came from, what ticket ID, what terminal, server name, ticket date along with the duration of the ticket (how long the ticket was opened), and lastly the type of alert(s) it was flagged for.
This is very robust, powerful tool to allow you to stay on top of your business, making sure the servers are following your standard operating procedures, offering great service to your customers and are not cheating the system or stealing for their own interest.

Here is a sample of the ticket detail that was flagged. Notice again that you have some very important data presented to the end user including, Ticket Number on the very top, type of alert, description of why the ticket was flagged, notes section to add notes on what happened, and finally the entire content of the check, items that were added, price, any promotions applied and payment along with check closed.
